Betty Mouraud from France has officially started her PhD at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in the Felix team. Her project will be focused on the genetic analysis of ancient cat remains to further explore the introduction of domestic cats to Europe, with a particular focus on the pre-Roman era. She will also investigate the evolution of typical phenotypic traits in domestic cats, such as coat color and pattern.
